You’re already one step away from finding your home in Madrid.

The house in which you’ll spend the next few years and in which you’ll become a “madrileño/a” … even if only temporarily.

So far you’ve done a great job: you’ve found out how to search for the area that suits you best, you’ve chosen one (or two, or three …) in which to focus and master the search engines. All you have to do now is select the properties that best suit you and then visit them.

To select correctly you’ll take into account all the properties that you have saved as “favorites” in each real estate search engine: as you have followed our indications to carry out a correct search you have already gone through the process of registration, saving searches and favourites and the search itself.

Select #1

Specify the dates you reserve to visit the selected properties. Try to make all the visits in one day: the rental market in Madrid is very agile, the houses are usually rented from one day to the next and you have to be fast.

Select #2

Contact the owners or real estate agents of your favorite ads to find out if the dates match your needs: It’s essential to check that the property is available from the day you need it and for the period of time you require.

And, of course, confirm the economic conditions: expenses included in the rent, deposit and payment guarantees.

Before communicating with landlords or real estate agents, check out all the ads saved as favorites, take a good look at all the details and read the descriptions carefully. This will save you a lot of calls.

Select #3

Choose the ones that best suit your needs and tastes.

Once you have spoken, you have all the information you need to select the properties that best suit your needs.

Select between 10 and 15 including the “second bests”. These are the ones that fit your requirements but, for some reason, you don’t like them that much.

Select #4

Keep in mind that there may always be surprises and some of the chosen homes may not be available the day you had agreed to see them because they are already rented.

In order to be prepared, you’ll have at hand your list of options B (the “second bests”), in case it were necessary to visit them that same day.

In addition, since you have saved the searches in each portal, you’ll continue to receive emails from the search engines with the new options that are coming out. And that may become the best of all the options.

If you are planning to move to Madrid soon, you’ll find all the relevant information in The secret of relocating to Madrid. If, in addition, you need help with the organization or even if you prefer that we accompany you, check out our services.

In the meantime, you can receive regular information by filling out this questionnaire. And if you find it useful, we thank you for sharing it.
