Deciding in which area of Madrid to live?<\/p>\n

This article belongs to the series \u201cInterviews & Areas of Madrid\u201d.<\/p>\n

In it we give voice to its residents, Spanish or foreign, recently moved or with many years of experience in the neighborhood. From their personal experience and their recommendations, we will approach each area with the intention of facilitating the decision-making process on which area you will feel more comfortable when moving to Madrid.<\/p>\n

I met Tuncel, Yasemin and their family when they started planning their move to Madrid from Istanbul.<\/p>\n

They arrived almost 3 years ago with the idea of starting a new project in Madrid that would unite their passions and their background and give continue their business in Istanbul.<\/p>\n

Inspired by their Swedish and Turkish origins, their love for coffee and pastries; as well as, artisanal processes and products of origin.<\/p>\n

Getting to know Tuncel and Arguelles<\/h2>\n

Why did you choose Arguelles?<\/h4>\n
\n

It is a central but at the same time quiet area, very close to Moncloa (with its public transport hub that connects with the \u201curbanizations\u201d and towns of the west) and Plaza de Espa\u00f1a which is one of the symbols of Madrid and where the most famous shopping area of the city begins.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Most of the residents are families which makes it a safe and pleasant area.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What do you do in Madrid?<\/h4>\n
\n

A year ago we opened a specialized coffee-bakery with different coffee roasts and original sweet (and salty!) dishes from Sweden and Turkey. All of it artisanal.<\/p>\n

It’s called\u00a0Yasemin&Tuncel Caf\u00e9<\/a>\u00a0and is located at Fern\u00e1ndez de los R\u00edos, 14.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What can you do on foot?<\/h4>\n
\n

We can walk to almost all of Madrid, the entire historic area is within walking distance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Do you use public transportation? Or private car?<\/h4>\n
\n

We don’t need to use a private car for practically anything, we have a subway stop very close to our house that connects us quickly with the rest of the city.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Shopping in the neighborhood: your favorite stores<\/h4>\n
\n

The Vallehermoso Market is our favorite place to shop, and it is also very close to Yasemin&Tuncel Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Leisure in the neighborhood: restaurants, bars\u2026<\/h4>\n
\n

There are hundreds of restaurants within walking distance not only in Arguelles but also in Malasa\u00f1a, Chamber\u00ed, Centro, etc.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And, regarding culture: theaters, cinemas, museums\u2026<\/h4>\n
\n

Cerralbo Museum<\/a> is very interesting, a 17th century house-palace, which was built as a residence and museum. When you visit it, you can imagine what life was like for an old aristocratic family.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Green areas, which one is your favorite?<\/h4>\n
\n

The Parque del Oeste is our favorite green area in Madrid. Now with the renovation of the Plaza de Espa\u00f1a it is very easy to reach Casa de Campo by bike.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Would you recommend the area to live with children?<\/h4>\n
\n

No doubt about it. Many families live there.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Arg\u00fcelles is one of the neighborhoods of the district of Moncloa-Aravaca. It is the most urban area of this District.<\/p>\n

Very central, with a large green area, the Parque del Oeste, which functions as one of its boundaries, to the west.<\/p>\n

There are numerous restaurants and shopping areas.<\/p>\n

The Plaza de Espa\u00f1a, one of the symbols of Madrid, is in this neighborhood with one of its emblematic buildings renovated a few years ago. And with many homes for rent from which you can enjoy some of the best views of Madrid to the Royal Palace and the Casa de Campo.<\/p>\n

Currently in Arg\u00fcelles, there is an offer of approximately 177 homes for rent with an average price of around 24,92\u20ac\/m2.<\/p>\n

As in most of the central districts, there are a variety of apartments and apartments in a wide range of prices. 69% of them are 1 and 2 bedroom homes. 14% are 3-bedroom apartments. There are also studios (6%) and 4 or more bedrooms (11%).<\/p>\n

Of these, 12% are rented with a garage, 25% have a terrace and 15% have a swimming pool.<\/p>\n
